Lillian Bernice "Bea" Allen

Lillian Bernice "Bea" Allen, age 87, of Ocean Springs, MS, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 22, 2010, in Ocean Springs. She was born in Walker, LA, became a military wife and traveled extensively, eventually settling in Ocean Springs, MS. Throughout her life she was an avid fisherman, enjoyed boating and time with friends. She served her community through the International Lions Club (Lioness') and the American Red Cross both locally and during her years overseas. She was preceded in death by her husband Owen Green Allen, her parents, Robert Methvien and Evelyn Brown Methvien, and sister Wilhelmina Methvien Hinton. Mrs. Allen is survived by her children Owen Robert Allen (Martha) of Slidell, LA, Francis Sue Allen White (John) of Ocean Springs, MS; sisters, Margie Methvien Campbell (J.D.) of Sibley, LA, Lavenia Methvien Fairchild (Darson) of Maurepas, LA; brothers Robert Methvien (Dottie) and Louis Methvien (Darline) both of Colyell, LA. She was also the proud "Maw Maw" of 5 grandchildren; Mike Allen (Laurie), Amber Allen Walsten (Will), Kathy White Lantrip (Jim), Owen White, and Jennie White Gables (Ken), nine great-grandchildren and one great, great grandchild. Visitation will be on Friday, June 25, 2010, from 6 pm until 8 pm, at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home. On Saturday, June 26, 2010, there will be a 10 am church service at St. Paul UMC Downtown Campus. Burial will follow in Crestlawn Memorial Park.
