Lillian Freeman, 86, of Ocean Springs, MS, passed away on Monday, October 29, 2018.
She was a devoted wife for 65 years and a wonderful, loving mother to her six children, always putting their needs before her own. She helped raise all of her grandchildren and was fortunate to have many years to enjoy her great-grandchildren and to have two great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Freeman was well known in her community for her extraordinary sewing talent. She was a seamstress at several local clothing shops in Ocean Springs, and she had many loyal customers over the years. She loved to sew and it brought her great joy.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Freeman; her parents, Alfred and Annie Shelton; and her brothers, Dolphus, Willard, and Carl Shelton of Florida.
Survivors include her children, Ken (Gilda) Freeman, Ellen (John Ray) Vaughan, Vic (Darlene) Freeman, Mark (Leigh) Freeman, Lynn (Connie) Freeman, and Billy Freeman; grandchildren, Tricia, Melanie, Angus, Gia, Jeremy, Lezlee, Laura Lee, Helen, Heather, Ashley, and Jonathan; 18 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Joyce Harrell of Altha, FL.
A family service was held Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at Biloxi National Cemetery, officiated by Chaplain Tony Graham.
