Lillie Cruso Lancon

Lillie Cruso Lancon, age 94, was called home to be with her Lord Monday, January 2, 2017, surrounded by her large and loving family. She was born on Seymour Lane on Point Cadet, in Biloxi to the late William "Bill" and Lillie Toche Cruso. She grew up in a seafood family business (Cruso Canning Co.) where she also worked. Her mother and father were from New Orleans so she grew up going to New Orleans often with family. They also spent many summers on Dauphin Island visiting family. She met her husband of 39 years, Clifford "Lee" Lancon, in Biloxi. They had a wonderful life, having eight children and moving from the city to the country and then back to Biloxi where she spent the rest of her life. She was a lifelong member of Saint Michaels Catholic Church where she was on the Altar Society, Sacred Heart League and Grievance Committee. She served as an Eucharist Minister for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford “Lee” Lancon; her parents, William “Bill”Cruso and Lillie Toche Cruso; her brothers Eugene Ellzey and Willie Cruso; her sisters Mary Loften, Olivia Locke, Josephine Cruso, and Vivian Wack; her grandchild Jocob Lancon; her great-grandchild Andie Leigh Lambert and her daughter-in-law Monica Lancon. She is survived by her children Veda Powell, Clifford Lancon (Jane), Yvette Strunk (Paul), Billy Lancon (Debra), Duane Lancon, Lillie Fleming (Vance), Jennifer Slaughter (Jerome), and Joe Lancon (Charmaine); 33 Grandchildren, 72 Great-Grandchildren, and 14 Great-Great-Grandchildren; her brother John Cruso; and her sisters Una Broussard and Mildred Caillavet. Visitation will be Thursday, January 5, 2017, from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Homes in Biloxi. Recitation of the Rosary will begin at 6:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, January 6, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Michaels Catholic Church where friends may visit one hour before service time.
