Linda Jones Coats

Linda Jones Coats, 77, of Gulfport, MS passed away on Monday, February 10, 2025 at 7:04 am. Linda was born August 11, 1947, in Forest City, Arkansas. The Arkansas native was the only child and daughter of the late Cecil and Billye Jones.

Linda Coats was full of many wonderful attributes. A role model as a Christian wife, mother and grandmother, she was a member of the St. Mark’s Episcopal Church and was unwavering in her faith. A devoted wife, she inspired many others with her eternal love for her husband. A perfect mother, she was strict but had immeasurable love for her children. She was a loving grandmother for her grandchildren, who called her “Nana” Linda. Linda had unbelievable energy and talents. She was meticulous about her landscaping and her flower gardens and kept a perfectly maintained and immaculate house until her health stopped her. Linda’s passions, other than her family, were for her precious little chihuahua’s who passed away before her; Mick, Casey, Bonnie and Suzie. Linda will be dearly missed by all.

She is survived by her two daughters, Sherry and her husband Bill Garmon of Vicksburg, MS and Robbin and her husband George Lundy of Anchorage, Alaska; two sons, James Sullivan and wife Jawana of Waxhaw, North Carolina and Jeff Sullivan and his wife Heather of Walker of Louisiana. She is also survived by many loved and loving grandchildren.

Visitation is Monday, February 17, 2025 from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, 1726 15th Street, Gulfport, MS 39501, followed by the graveside service at 1:30 at Biloxi Veterans National Military Cemetery, Biloxi, MS. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of a charitable donation to the Humane Society of South Mississippi, 2615 25th Avenue, Gulfport, MS 39501.
