Linda Frances Fisher Kremer lost her battle with cancer on Friday, August 12, 2005. She was born December 21, 1941 in Utica, Mississippi to Emery and Frances Fisher, who preceded her in death. She graduated from Delta State University with a degree in Elementary Education and then received her Master’s Degree from University of Southern Mississippi in Elementary Administration. She was a lifelong teacher and educator, who made a difference in the lives of everyone she touched. She was a charter member of Phi Phi Chapter of Delta Delta Delta since 1962. She was named in “Who’s Who” among students in colleges and universities. She was president of Delta State University Wesley Foundation. Mrs. Kremer was an educator in Gulfport school system for 30 years; she was a principal of Central Elementary School for 17 years; principal of Saint James Catholic School for 4 years. She was a member of Saint James Catholic Church for over 40 years, where she served as a Eucharistic minister, lector, commentator, and a member of the bereavement committee for 7 years.
Linda is survived by her husband of 41 years, Charles Edward Kremer; her son Charles Edward “Ned” Kremer, II, (Ashley Peden Kremer); her daughter Tracy Kremer Bailey (Shane Victor Bailey); five grandchildren, Sophie Peden Kremer, Fisher Noble Kremer, Morgan Nelson Bailey, Kyanne Kremer Bailey, Charles Garrett Thomas Bailey, all of Gulfport, Mississippi; her brother James Watson Bennett Lewis, III (Doris Ann) of Lake Charles, Louisiana; and her Russian daughter, Natalia Dudakova Diaz (Eduardo G. Diaz) and their daughter Sofia Anastassia Dudakova Diaz of Ocean Springs, Mississippi.
Visitation will be held Monday, August 15, 2005 at 9AM at Saint James Catholic Church; followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11AM. Interment will be in Saint James Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Saint James Catholic School Art Program, 603 West Ave., Gulfport, MS 39507. Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home on 15th Street in Gulfport is in charge of arrangements.
