Linda Ann (Daily) Shoultz, of Gulfport passed away on Sunday, April 6, 2025

Linda Shoultz was born on November 6, 1947, a beloved only child to her doting parents Col. Russell A. Dailey (Ret.) and Annie L. Dailey in Gulfport, MS. She was spoiled by her loving parents and grew up an “Air Force Brat” in Germany, Virginia, Texas, and Mississippi. She had an absolute passion for riding horses when she was young and pursued it as often as possible. After her father retired, she settled with them in Arlington, VA until the family moved home after Hurricane Camille in late 1969 as owners of The Ideal Shop in Gulfport.

Linda and her mom were known for their penchant for fashion and went on to dress women of the Gulf Coast for three decades in fine ladies clothing. During this time, she was active in several organizations and was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church in Long Beach. She was a member of the Long Beach Carnival Association and reigned as Queen Rosalie for their Twenty-Fifth Anniversary year. She was also an active member of the Altrusa Club of Gulfport and was instrumental in achieving several service projects including the first computers for literacy in the Gulfport Library and handicapped accessible playground equipment in the Westside Park prior to becoming Federal Law.

She began and raised her family on the Coast. She enjoyed this time of her life the most and often said that her children were her greatest achievement in life. She was so proud of them and often bragged about their accomplishments to anyone that would listen.

Linda had a passion for cards and played Bridge for most of her adult life. She was still playing with a lovely group of ladies every month at the Great Southern Club. In addition, she subbed for several other Bridge groups in Gulfport.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Col. Russell A. Dailey (Ret.) and Annine L. “Bennie” Dailey; and all her aunts and uncles. She is survived by her loving son Rusell T. “Rusty” (Rachel) Shoultz of St. George, LA; and her adoring and devoted daughter K. Brooke Shoultz of Biloxi; and her four grand-dogs Sherman and Maris of St. George, LA and Schatzi and Lola of Biloxi.

We would be remiss if we did not acknowledge the outstanding care our mother received at Memorial Hospital Biloxi, especially by her ICU nurses, Kaitlin, Zach, Melissa and too many others to list and her longtime physician Dr. Andrew Peterson.

A private funeral Mass was held at Our Lady of Fatima in Biloxi for her children. If you knew Linda, you know how well she could plan and coordinate any event. In honor of a life well lived and to celebrate a true “One of A Kind” lady, a reception will be held at the Great Southern Club.

Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Linda Ann (Daily) Shoultz.
