Linda Carlene Williams, 79, of Biloxi, MS passed away peacefully at Canon Hospice in Gulfport, MS on Friday, February 3, 2017. She was given her wings for her journey home.
Linda was born in Union, MS, moving to Gulfport at the age of 10 and was a resident of Gulf Coast since. She traveled and lived worldwide for short periods with her beloved husband, a career Air Force military man. They settled and retired in Biloxi, MS. She was a very devout and lifelong Primitive Baptist.
Linda was a great homemaker, faithful and loving wife and a wonderful mother. She never met a stranger, never had an enemy and always had a beautiful smile for everyone. She could always find the best in everyone she knew or met. Linda was a true treasure to all the family and friends she loved dearly.
She was preceded in death by her husband and best friend, Julian S. “Jay” Williams, Jr.; her father, William “Leroy” Kimbell; her mother, Frances Barfoot Kimbell Smith; her brothers, Fredrick L. Kimbell and Tommy E. Kimbell; and her sister, Frances M. Carlstead, all from the Gulf Coast.
Linda’s survivors include her only child, her son, Jerry Steven Williams of Gulfport; and her last sister, Rebecca “Becky” Lawrence of Las Vegas, NV.
Linda will be greatly missed by all family and friends who knew her.
Funeral Services will be held at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, 15th Street, Gulfport on Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at 11:30 am. Friends may visit from 10:30 am until service time. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Gulfport.
