On Saturday, August 5, 2006 our beloved father, Lloyd G. Green passed away in North Biloxi and went to Heaven to be with his very dearly beloved wife, Juana Pena, whom he never stopped yearning for. He was 74 years old. Our Dad was a twenty year Veteran of the United States Air Force, where he served with high meritorious honor and valor in the Korean and Vietnam Wars. After retiring from the Air Force in 1971, Dad became a civil servant with the Department of the Navy. Finally serving in the security force at the United States Naval Home in Gulfport, from 1972 until his retirement in 1999. He served with high distinction and was highly respected and very well liked among residents and co-workers alike. He enjoyed his work at the Naval Home and made many friends over the years. Upon retiring, Dad pursued his favorite hobby of being a CB Radio operator. He was known by his handle of "Sand Crab". He and Momma enjoyed trips to Florida and often took day trips to nearby regions. Dad was preceded in death by our beloved mother, Juana; his parents, Lloyd and Icie Greene; a sister and a brother. He is survived by three children, four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, as well as his older sister and brother-in-law along with many nieces and nephews. The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude and thanks to the Nursing and CNA staff of Trinity Hospice, Kare-in-Home, Odyssey Hospice and V.A. Medical Center staffs, as you all made the final days of his life bearable. Thank you Mary, Mary A., Gladys, Gail, Debra and Elaine. Thank you to all the Chaplins and social workers who gave their most loving support to our Dad. Visitation will be from 10:00 am till 11:00 am on Friday, August 11, 2006 at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Homes. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 in the Chapel of the Funeral Home. Burial will follow at 12:30 pm in Biloxi National Cemetery.
