Mr. Lloyd "Frenchie" Landry, 92, of Ocean Springs, MS, died Friday, February 13, 2009, in Ocean Springs.
Mr. Landry was born in Broussard, LA and had been a lifelong resident of Biloxi. He was a U. S. Army Veteran of WW II and a member of the Biloxi Chapter of the Knights of Columbus. "Frenchie" retired from the US postal service and worked 15 years at his dream job as caretaker at Camp Wilkes in Biloxi. He was a proud supporter of Troop 213 of the Boy Scouts of America and the last living employee of the original employees of Barq's Root Beer Bottling Company.
Mr. Landry was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lund Landry; son, James Edward Landry; daughter, Barbara Ann Nalley; grandson, David James Landry; granddaughter, Catherine Marie Landry; sisters, Louella Arguelles and Louise Stevenson; and brother, Dennis Landry.
Survivors include his daughters, Sister Joan M. Landry of Biloxi, Elaine (Thomas) Ansinger of Ocean Springs, and Mary Martha Alford of Gulfport; ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Visitation is Tuesday, February 17, 2009, from 6 until 8 p.m. with Rosary at 7 p.m. at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, Howard Avenue, in Biloxi. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Nativity B.V.M. Catholic Cathedral where friends may visit one hour before services. Interment will follow in Biloxi City Cemetery.
