Lois Imogene Carver, 91, of Ocean Springs, MS passed away on Wednesday, February 14, 2018. Ms. Carver was born to the late Russell and Leona Carver. She was a graduate of Ocean Springs High School. Among other passions, she cherished her lifelong membership to Ocean Springs First Baptist Church, where she served as a Sunday School teacher. Having led a 32-year career as a bank teller, she held the title of being the first “Miss National Bank.” Later into her 80’s, she served as a night watchman at Villa Maria for 22 years. There were many livelihoods she enjoyed, including horseback riding, tennis, swimming, softball, gardening, motorcycling, and most faithfully of all, teaching the Lord’s word. Ms. Carver is preceded in death by her parents, Russell and Leona Carver; and siblings, Kenneth, Catherine, Winifred, and Peggy. Left to honor her memory are a host of nieces and nephews, Jack (Cathy), Jeff (Cindy), Jill (Alex), Russell Mathidas, and many more. Her great-nieces include Heather, Natalie, Olivia, and Emily. Her great-great-nephews include Jaks and Gavin. She also cherished companionship of the many pets she had cared for over the years. Ms. Carver’s family would like to extend their gratitude to her family and friends at Lemoyne Place in Ocean Springs, MS. A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, February 18, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home.
