Lois was born on August 7, 1925 in Gramercy, LA to Marguerite Gautreaux Wilkinson and Joseph Biddle Wilkinson.
She spent her early childhood growing up in Louisiana where she graduated from Sophie B. Wright High School in New Orleans. After graduating, her family moved to Biloxi where she met her husband John F. Moore at Keesler Field, to whom she was married for 52 years. They travelled for 28 years with the Air Force and settled in Biloxi, where she worked for the Biloxi School District as the cafeteria manager at Jeff Davis Elementary. Lois enjoyed volunteer work and spent many hours volunteering with Family Services, a military support group, where she was named volunteer of the year. After retiring, she volunteered at Gulf Coast Community Hospital and Biloxi Regional Hospital. She is a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. Her favorite past time was spent vacationing with her family, traveling with her friends in the Golden Age Club and French Club. She enjoyed Friday nights at the casinos, TOPS meetings, and also making crafts at Senior Citizens. She was the Harrison County Senior Citizen of the year in 1997.
Lois is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John F. Moore; three sisters, Marguerite Tyner, Thelma Ewing, and Leland Dresser; and two brothers, Arthur Carroll Wilkinson and Joseph Biddle “Bill” Wilkinson.
