Lonnie Lee Waltman of Vancleave, MS passed away peacefully at home Saturday, February 15, 2025. He was born on March 20, 1954 in Biloxi, MS to Alonzo and Ola Mae Waltman.
LL is survived by his wife of fifty years, Geraldine Faye (Pavolini) Waltman; son, Lee Lee and Brandi Waltman of Vancleave, MS; daughters, Becky Holcomb of Vancleave, MS, Tressie Liebold and Mandy Waltman both of Saucier, MS; 21 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; two sisters, Bonnie (Avery) Sapp of Cobbtown, GA and Pauline Pace of Vancleave, MS; two nephews, Jeffery Sapp of Collins, GA and Alan Pace of Vancleave, MS; and one niece, Marsha (Travis) Cobb of Guyton, GA.
LL was a crane rigger at Ingalls Shipyard, where he worked for thirty-nine years. He spent his life exploring the great outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, running dogs, and cookouts. He was an avid turkey hunter. He loved to cook for his family and friends. He was well known for his beans, gumbo, fried fish, and bbq chicken.
LL is preceded in death by his parents, Alonzo and Ola Mae Waltman; his brother, Will Waltman; son in law, Bud Holcomb; and a nephew, Brandon Pace.
LL leaves his family and many great friends who will deeply miss him. The family would like to thank everyone who has supported and cared for us during this process.
The visitation will be held from 1 pm to 2 pm, with the service beginning at 2 pm on Saturday, February 22, 2025 at the Vancleave Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Vancleave Holiness Cemetery.
