Loraine Jean Brodie

Loraine Jean Brodie, age 94, of Gulfport, passed away on Tuesday, March 14, 2023.

She was born Loraine Jean Costa, in Oakland, CA on March 20, 1928, to parents, Manuel and Georgina Maura Costa. Loraine was raised by her Momma and Poppa, Loriano and Josephine Souza Costa.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, George Costa; and sister, Veronica Costa Santos.

Survivors include her sons, Larry Hyatt (Joni) and Michael Hyatt (Kathy); 5 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and other relatives and many friends.

Loraine loved the Mississippi Gulf Coast, having resided in both Biloxi and Gulfport, for over 60 years. She will be remembered for being a loving mother, a good friend to many, and a person who loved life to the fullest. Mom, you will always be loved and remembered; rest in peace.

A private service will be held. Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, 15^th Street, Gulfport is honored to serve the Brodie family.
