Lorraine May Duffel Ellzey

Mrs. Lorraine May Duffel Ellzey, 88, of Biloxi, MS, died Thursday, March 22, 2007, in Biloxi. Mrs. Ellzey was a native of New Orleans, LA and had been a longtime resident of Biloxi. She was the co-owner/operator of Ellzey's Hardware in Biloxi and a member of Nativity B.V. M. Catholic Cathedral. She was an avid gardner and a member of several carnival organizations and garden clubs. Mrs. Ellzey was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Ellzey, Jr.; parents, Henry and May Duffel; sister, Lydia "Snooky" Williams; grandson, Brandon Breal, and a niece, Shirley L. Stanley. Survivors include two daughters, Sandy Cannette and her husband, Lee, and Renee Rogers and her husband, David; one son, Curtis Ellzey, III and his wife, Dena; five grandchildren, Brandy Kearns, David Rogers, Jr., Kim Ellzey, Lindsey Ellzey and Derek Breal; and seven great grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, March 26, 2007, at 12 noon at Nativity B.V.M. Catholic Cathedral where friends may visit from 10 a.m. until service time. Interment will follow in Southern memorial Park. In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials be made to Nativity Sacred Heart Center, 870 Howard Avenue, Biloxi, MS 39530. The Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Homes in Biloxi is in charge of arrangements.
