Mrs. Lou Ethel Ishee Carter, age 90, of Biloxi, MS passed away on Thursday, December 28, 2017 in Columbus, MS.
Mrs. Carter was born on September 2, 1927 in Stringer, MS. She was the Co-Owner of Carter Appliance Service. She loved to cook and catered numerous events. She was an active member of First Baptist Church of Biloxi. She was affectionately known as “Mimi” and will be remembered as a loving daughter, wife, mother and grandmother.
Mrs. Carter is preceded in death by her loving husband, Alpha Floyd Carter; parents, William Robert and Mittie H. Ishee; and siblings, James Prentiss Ishee and Robert Pearl Ishee.
Survivors include her two loving daughters, Elizabeth “Libby” (Charles) Allen and Jean “Jeanie” (Mack) Fuqua; adored niece, Charlotte (Walter B.) Green; grandchildren, Todd C. Allen, Lisa F. Savage, Paul C. Fuqua and Drew J. Allen; and great grandchildren, Cole Savage, Carter Allen, Charlie Allen, Charlotte Allen and Harper Allen.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Trinity Health Care Center; and to her roommate, Ann Adair and her sons- Pat, Scott and Mike for their compassion.
In lieu of flowers the family would prefer memorials to be made to Trinity Health care Family Group-300 Airline Rd, Columbus, MS 39702 or to First Baptist Church of Biloxi- 1560 Popps Ferry Rd, Biloxi, MS 39532.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home from 10:30 a.m. until service time 11:30 a.m. A graveside service will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery at 12:30 p.m.
