Mr. Louis Harold Meaut, Jr., of St. Martin, died Monday, November 14, 2005, at his residence.
Mr. Meaut was a native and lifelong resident of the coast. He was employed with DuPont for the past 25 years. He was a 1976 graduate of Ocean Springs High School where he was the starting quarterback. Louis was also a 1978 graduate of "Perk" where he played quarterback. In years past he coached football and baseball. He also coached his son, Louis, III, from the age of four through junior high school. He was still fondly referred to as "Coach Lou" by the young men he formerly coached. Louis was a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, son-in-law, and uncle.
Louis was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia Allen Meaut and his grandparents, Louis and Lucy Meaut and Stuart and Clara Evans.
He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Lou Ann Meaut of St. Martin, a daughter, Brittany Hentges and husband, Derek, of Latimer, son, Louis H. Meaut, III of St. Martin, his father, Louis H. Meaut, Sr., of Ocean Springs, granddaughter, Aubree Annelise Hentges of Latimer, four sisters, Susan McFall and husband, Donnie, of Biloxi, Peggy Byrd and husband, Rocky, of Ocean Springs, Janet Tice and husband, Bill, of Ocean Springs, and Beth Aultman and husband, David, of Woodbridge, VA., father and mother-in-law, Aubrey and Betty Seymour of St. Martin, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Thursday, November 17, 2005, from 9:30 AM - 11:00 AM, with an 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial, at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Biloxi City Cemetery.
The Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
