Louis Paul Gillespie

Louis Paul Gillespie, 78, of Biloxi, MS died Tuesday, January 12, 2010. Mr. Gillespie served 27 years honorably in the US Army and US Air Force, which included the Korean Conflict and two tours of duty in the Vietnam War. After retiring from the service, he taught electronics in Saudi Arabia to their officers. Mr. Gillespie was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church and also the Knights of Columbus. He is preceded in death by his parents, Tony and Pauline Gillespie; son, Brian Gillespie and granddaughter, Stephanie Jeanne Rideout. Mr. Gillespie is survived by his wife, Lousie Gillespie; daughter, Rhonda Rideout; step-daughters, Donna Walker, Karen Lybrand, Lynn Whitfield, Judy Blackburn; sons, Tim Gillespie, Father Martin Gillespie, Eric Gillespie and Marc Gillespie; twin sister, Lois Green; brother, Edward Gillespie; nine grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and twelve step-great-grandchildren and former spouse, Maggie Gillespie. "I waited patiently for God to help. Then he listened and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the pit of despair, out from the bog and the mire, and set my feet on a hard firm path and steadied me as I walked along." Graveside services will be on Friday, February 5, 2010 at 10:00 am at the Biloxi National Cemetery with full military honors. Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home Howard Avenue, Biloxi is in charge of arrangements.
