Louis Anthony Vassalli, Sr.

Louis Anthony Vassalli, Sr., 82, of St. Martin passed away on Wednesday, January 1, 2025. He was born in Biloxi, graduated from St. Martin High School, and lived out his life as a resident of St. Martin. 

 Louis was an employee of Ingalls Shipbuilding for thirty-two years upon retirement. He was a dedicated Shriner for over thirty years. Louis loved participating in parades as a Shriner on his go cart. He enjoyed shrimping, camping with his family, and taking rides to the harbor visiting with friends. Louis also loved his grandkids as he supported them throughout their activities and sports for both St. Martin and D’Iberville. He lived a wonderful and prosperous life until the end with family by his side along with his protector and man’s best friend, Shockey.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Josephine Vassalli; sister, Jo Ann Vassalli Longon (Thomas); and a nephew, Jason Longon.

He is survived by Lorena, his high school sweetheart and loving wife of 61 years; one daughter, Melinda Vassalli-Clark; three sons, Louis (Bubba) Vassalli, Dwayne Vassalli (Deedy), and Michael Vassalli (Amy); his grandchildren, Tricia Jacquet (Brett), Tiffany Cannette, D.J. Vassalli (Ashleigh), Devin Vassalli, Cameron Locke, Gavin Vassalli, and Shelby Kate Vassalli; seven great grandchildren; one niece, Angie Longon Casey; and a great niece and nephew.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home in Ocean Springs from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. followed by a Memorial Service at 2:00 p.m. A celebration of life will follow the Memorial Service at the Bibleway Missionary Baptist Church in D’Iberville.
