Louise “Wezie” (Gams) Marie Ross, age 73, passed away on Wednesday, November 1, 2023.
Born in Biloxi on May 20, 1950, she was a lifelong resident and took pride in her heritage as a member of an old shrimping, boat building, and net making family. She worked in various positions within the hospitality industry, eventually retiring from Community Relations with the Biloxi Police Department. She loved old movies, detective shows, thrift store treasure hunting and Pepsi, which she was seldom seen without.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis Ross Sr. and Aldora “Sugar” Arcement Ross; her siblings; Aldora Bourcy and Louis Ross Jr.; her grandsons, Nathan McDonnell and Jeffrey McDonnell; as well as her much loved pet turtle, Mikey.
Louise is survived by her daughters, Dawn (Johnny) DuBose and Tracy Dower; sisters, Judy (Richard) Wilder, Susan O’Neal, Cheryl (Johnny) Cruthirds, Barbara (David) Skinner, and Florence Ross; brother, David Ross; grandchildren, Chelsea (Jessie) Gallardo, Isabella Westlauer, Rachel McDonnell, Dustin McDonnell, Audrey Westlauer, Tova Dower, Charlie Dower, Penelope Dower, Matilda Dower, and Henry Dower; great-grandchildren, Andrew McDonnell, Jayla Hamby, Ryan Gallardo, Madison Gallardo, Wyatt McDonnell, and Scarlett Westlauer.
A private memorial will be held at a later date.
