Lt. Col. Wendall Conner, 86, USAF Retired, of Biloxi, died Monday, December 11, 2006 at the Biloxi VA.
Wendall was born in DeLand, Illinois March 7, 1920. He had been a resident of Biloxi for 42 years and was of the Methodist faith. Wendall was a graduate of Millikin University in Decatur, Illinois. He served in WWII from December 1941 until December 1945 in Normandy through the Battle of the Bulge. While in Europe he served in the Ninth Air Force. Wendall also served during the Korean War and the Vietnam conflict. Other tours of duty included Morocco, Iceland and Keesler AFB, where he retired in 1970.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Catherine; daughter Christie Rawls and her husband Dan of Biloxi; and grandsons, Chad Carmichael of Germantown, Maryland and Jason Rawls of Ocean Springs.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations to the American Heart Association or your favorite charity.
A memorial service will be held at Beauvoir United Methodist Church on Monday, December 18 at 11:00am followed by a graveside service with full military honors in the Biloxi National Cemetery at 1:30pm.
