Lt. Com. Albert Carlos Storey, U. S. Navy, Retired

LCDR Albert C. Storey, USN, Retired, 80 yrs old, of Gautier, MS, passed away at his home surrounded by his loved ones. Mr. Storey was born October 11, 1929, in Wesson, Mississippi to Mr & Mrs Walter Wren Storey. He served 27 years in the United States Navy and received numerous prestigeous awards throughout his military career. He commanded troops and ships in combat zones. His travels took he and his family to several overseas assignments. After retirement he moved his family to the Mississipi Gulf Coast and was employed in Ships Management with Ingalls Shipbuilding, aka Northrop Grumman Ship Systems, for 20 years. Mr. Storey was an avid golfer and a charter member of MS National Country Club. He was an active member of the Masonic Lodge, MS Gulf Coast Shrine Club and the American Legion Post #160. Mr. Storey was preceded in death by his parents, Mr & Mrs Walter Wren Storey; Maria C. Storey, mother of his children; daughter, Vanessa Sue Storey; brothers, Edgar Storey and James Storey; and sister, Inez Coleman. He leaves to cherish precious memories, his soul mate and love of his life, Gayle Schoeder; a son, Dennis J. (Rhonda) Storey of Bristow, VA; daughters, Catherine Storey and Charlene Philabaum, both of Gautier; Sisters, Bess Gruchy of Tallahassee, FL, and Sue (Ken) Weems of Houston, TX; brother, Charlton Storey of Tallahassee, FL; Granddaughters, Brooke, Desiree, and Marie; grandson, Justin; and eight great grandchildren. Funeral services will be 11:15 a.m. Wednesday, January 6, 2010, at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home in Ocean Springs where friends may visit from 9 a.m. until service time. Interment will follow in Biloxi National Cemetery with military honors. In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorial contributions made to the American Cancer Society, 417 Security Square, Gulfport, MS 39507, or The Home of Grace, P. O. Box 2224, Pascagoula, MS 39567, in his name.
