Lucille Collins was born in Baton Rouge, LA on November 8, 1931 and died peacefully on Saturday, December 2, 2023.  She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Leonard Collins. 

Lucille is survived by her children, Karen Redd (Eddy), Linda Collins, Kenneth Collins, Patricia Mangrum (Michael) and Nancy Butts (Michael). She was the proud grandmother to six grandchildren: Annie Redd, William Redd, Matthew Mangrum, Benjamin Mangrum (Liza), Thomas Mangrum and Riley Collins. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Rosemary Collins (Mrs. Francis X Collins). 

Lucille was born in Baton Rouge, LA where she met the love of life, Leonard Collins. They married in 1957 and moved to Gulfport, MS where they raised their 5 children. She was a faithful member of St. James Parish. Up until her death, she was a regular adorer at the St. James Adoration Chapel. Along with her faith, the most important part of her life was her family. She enjoyed gardening and playing bridge. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, December 7, 2023 at 12:00 p.m. at St. James Catholic Church, Gulfport where friends may visit beginning at 11:00. Interment will follow at Biloxi City Cemetery, Biloxi. 

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials to St. Jude’s Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or St. Vincent de Paul C/O St. James Catholic Church, 366 Cowan Road, Gulfport, MS 39507. 

We will be forever grateful to her wonderful caregivers and running buddies, Ola Law and Lisa Suehr.
