Mrs. Lucille Beach, 90, of Gulfport, MS, died Saturday, February 26, 2011, in Biloxi.
Mrs. Beach was born in Sturgis, MS and had been a longtime resident of the coast. She was formerly employed at the Sheraton Hotel where she kept the American flag sewn and was affectionately known as "Betsy Ross". She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother great grandmother and great-great grandmother who was loved by all and will be greatly missed.
Mrs. Beach is preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Willie H. Beach. She is survived by her daughters, Nan (Theo) Goodwin, Ann Carroll, Gaile (Dwayne) Koerperich, Faye (James) Gant, Mazelle (David) Broom, and Mozelle (Alan) Bond; eleven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; sisters, Ruby George of Oneonta, AL, Jewel Whitaker of Cocoa, FL, and Bernice Schaeffer of Dixon, IL; a very special sister-in-law, Doris Beach Hall of Little Rock, AR; brother, Richard Savage of Ocean Springs; and many special nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 2, 2011, at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, Pass Road, in Biloxi where friends may visit one hour before service time. Interment will follow in Biloxi National Cemetery.
