Lucius Freiberger

Mr. Lucius " Lou " Freiberger, Jr, of Biloxi, died December 5, 2006 in Biloxi, Mississippi. Lou was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on April 15, 1914 and was a member of the first graduating class of Alceo Fortier High School. He attended Tulane University and Soule' Business school. Upon completion of his studies at Soule' he was employed by the school as an instructor for several years. After his marriage in 1937 to Emelda Guillotte of Biloxi, they moved from New Orleans to Biloxi where he was employed by the DeJean' Packing Company. He worked at De Jean's as an accountant until his retirement in 1979. Lou's hobbies were woodworking and growing camellias. He made small wood items and various types of boxes in his workshop to give to family and friends. He loved Camellias and grafted new varities named for each of his grandchildren. It gave him great pleasure to share these beautiful flowers with others and would often bring a tray of them to friends. Lou was member of Nativity BVM Cathedral where he served as an usher for many years. Mr. Freiberger was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Emelda and his parents Lucius and Alice Freiberger, two brothers and one sister. Lou is survived by his daughters, Emelda Oliver and her husband Jim of Jonesboro, Georgia and Susan Saxon and her husband Ted of Lilburn, Georgia ; grandchildren , James Oliver Jr., Emelda Carlson and Julie Silva of Peachtree City, Georgia, Linda Ligon of Columbus, Georgia , Marianne Saxon of Dunwoody, Georgia and Emily Saxon of Lilburn, Georgia and 10 great-grand children, Jimmy Oliver III, Donny Oliver, Ashley, Matthew and Zachary Carlson, Olivia and Alexander Silva and Andrea, Joshua and Jaime Ligon. Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 9, 2006 at 10 until 11 am at Nativity BVM Cathedral Followed by a Mass Of Christian Burial at 11:00 am. Burial will be at Southern Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Nativity Sacred Heart Center Fund. Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home in Biloxi is charge of arrangemnets.
