Luther Phillip Basque

Luther Phillip Basque, age 78, of Gautier passed away on Thursday, February 14, 2008 in Gautier. Mr. Basque was a graduate of Ocean Springs High School and a lifetime resident of Ocean Springs and retired from the roofing and sheet metal business. He owned Basque Sheet metal and Roofing. He loved to fish and play golf, loved to ride around, drink coffee and talk to friends. Mr. Basque was preceded in death by his wife, Theresa Smagacz Basque; father, Joseph G. Basque; mother, Alphonsine Basque; brothers, Joseph F. Basque and Byron Basque; sisters, Lucille Boone, Ivan Bennett and Clotille Seymour. Survivors include his daughter, Shelia (Tim) Preston of D'Iberville; sister, Floy Lee Amos of Ocean Springs; brothers Alva Basque and Benard Basque both of Ocean Springs; two grandchildren, Jason Preston of Denham Springs, LA and Daniel Preston of D'Iberville and friend, Rose Lewis of Biloxi. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Monday February 18, 2008, with an 11:00 a.m. service at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Homes.
