Lyman Paul Bradford, Sr., Deacon of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, born March 18, 1935 passed away on April 9, 2013.
Paul is the son of the late Paul Stephen Bradford and Ruth Gates Bradford. He was also predeceased by a son, Captain Stephen Lawrence Bradford, U.S. Army.
Paul was a 1953 graduate of Biloxi High School and the University of Southern Mississippi, 1957. In addition, he was a Captain in the United States Marine Corps, a business owner in Ocean Springs, a Purchasing Agent for Litton Ingalls Shipbuilding and a Hospice Chaplain. Paul was a very active resident of Ocean Springs, serving as president of the Chamber of Commerce, chairman of the Planning Commission and a member of the Harbor Commission. Paul was especially pleased to serve as a Deacon at Fatima where he worked for the Bishop to preach, marry, baptize, and perform the burial office. He enjoyed his poker group of more than thirty years and fishing for speckled trout and redfish almost as much as his service as a deacon.
Special thanks for the dedicated care beyond the call of their oath given by Dr. William Striegel, Dr. Brian Persing, their staffs, especially Mindy and the staff of Ocean Springs Hospital.
Paul is survived by his wife, Linda Dalgo Bradford; his son, L.P. “Brad” Bradford, Jr. and wife Peggy; his daughter, Jennifer Lyn Bradford; his grandson, Lt. j.g. Jordan Paul Bradford, U.S. Navy; and his granddaughters, Andie Olivia Bradford, Bailey Lauren Hoffman, and Sydney Allison Hoffman.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society or Fatima Christian Music Fund, 2090 Pass Road, Biloxi, MS 39531.
