Lynn Morris Whiting

Lynn Morris Whiting, age 82, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday, February 25, 2024.

Lynn (better known as “Slim” by all his family and friends), was born in Hollister, CA.

 He was preceded in death by his parents, Martha Jean (Eliott) Whiting and Morris Renaldo Whiting; as well as his beloved grand-daughter, Stephanie Rae Koll.

He is survived by his loving wife, Linda; his daughter, Laura Cannelora (John); his son, Michael (Margaret “Meg”) Dengler; three grandchildren, Jessica Cannelora, Benjamin Dengler and Sarah Dengler, all of Ocean Springs MS and his best girl, “Lucy”, his ragdoll cat.

Slim was a military member of the U.S. Navy, attended Golden Gate University in San Francisco, and was a telecommunications manager for Amfac Corporation and R. J. Reynolds while residing in California.  He loved the Bay Area, the Giants, and especially the 49ers. Slim also loved car races and was a starter for the SCCA at Sears Point and Laguna Sega racetracks. He went on as many cruises as his wife allowed, enjoyed playing 3-card poker on the ship, and sitting on the balcony enjoying the sea.  Always a sailor!

A funeral service will be held at 12:00pm on Monday, March 4, 2024 at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, Ocean Springs, MS. Friends may visit one hour prior. Interment will follow at the Biloxi National Cemetery at 1:30pm.
