M/Sgt. Bernie R. Windham, 39, of Biloxi, MS died on Saturday, April 11, 2009 in Biloxi. He was formerly of Forest, MS and had been a resident of the Coast for the past 6 years. Mr. Windham served in the USAF for 22 years. He was a Gulf War and Iraqi Freedom veteran. He also served in the Southwest Asia area. He received numerous medals of service; Global War on Terrorism Expedition Medal, Humanitarian Medal and NATO medal. He was a member of the Elks Lodge in Ocean Springs.
Mr. Windham is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Ruby Jones Windham; biological father, James Daughtry.
He is survived by his wife, Kim Windham of Biloxi; daughter, Bethany Windham; son, Collin Windham both of Biloxi; sisters, Pat Robine of Fort Smith, AR, Cindy Wood of Forest, MS; brothers, Jim Windham of Fort Smith, AR, Herbie Windham of Forest, MS.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, April 14, 2009 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm with Elk service beginning at 6:00 pm at the Pass Road Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, West Biloxi.
Wednesday, April 15, 2009 a procession will leave Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, Pass Road at 1:45 pm to go to Larcher Chapel, KAFB for a 2:00 pm funeral service. Friends may visit from 1:00 pm until procession time.
