Maj. Walter J. Harenski, Jr., USAF Ret.

Maj. Walter J. Harenski, Jr., USAF Ret., age 79, of Biloxi, MS, died Monday, January 23, 2012, in Biloxi. Maj. Harenski was born in Pittsburg, PA and had been a longtime resident of the MS Gulf Coast. He was a retired U. S. Air Force Veteran with 20 years of service including two tours of Vietnam. He was the recipient of the Meritorious Service Medal and many other recognations and service related awards during his military tenure. He and his wife, Dianne, were the former owners of Gulf Air Mobile Home Park in Biloxi. Maj. Harenski was preceded in death by his parents, Stella and Walter Harenski, Sr. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Dianne Glenn Harenski; son, Robert G. Harenski, and brother-in-law, Thomas Glenn. The family extends their appreciation and thanks to the staff and administration of the Biloxi VA Medical Center, especially Kathleen Williams his nurse-practioner, for the care and attention they provided. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Friday, January 27, 2012, at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, 2511 Pass Road, in Biloxi where friends may visit from 12 noon until service time. Interment will follow in Biloxi National Cemetery with full military honors.
