Major Edward "Ed" J. Glasier, Jr., 72, of Gulfport, died Monday, March 28, 2005 in Gulfport.
Mr. Glasier was retired from the U.S. Air Force with over 20 years of service. He was a B52 Bomber Pilot and he was head of safety for Strategic Air Command at Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio. Major Glasier worked for the Department of Labor, U.S. Mint, and he was retired from the Department of Energy where he was in charge of a medical team of three doctors and five nurses. He was also a safety inspector for the Alaskan Pipeline. Mr. Glasier was employed by Ceasars International on Seaway Road in Gulfport.
He was preceded in death by his father, Edward J. Glasier, Sr., two uncles Cyril Omer and Hank Enfield; and one aunt Mary Vestal.
Major Glasier is survived by his wife of 30 years, Sharon Glasier, a son Darwin McBride Glasier and his wife Janis, all of Gulfport; a daughter Kandis Lee Glasier of Ocean Springs; a granddaughter Teagan Isabel Glasier of Gulfport; his mother Fern Glasier Sudeith and a brother Darwin Lewis Glasier and his wife Sylvia all of Anniston, AL.
Visitation will be Sunday from 5pm till 8pm at the O'Neal Road Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home in Gulfport. The funeral service will be 2:00pm, Monday, April 4, 2005 in the funeral home chapel. Internment will be in the Biloxi National Cemetery with Full Military Honors.
Pallbearers will be Bob Free, Rick Free, Jeff Womack, Mike Vangrinsven, Ryan McMahon, Kenny Burns, Patrick Noonan, and Gilbert Young.
