Manuel Gorden Powell, Sr.

Manuel G. Powell, Sr., 68, of Vancleave died Friday, August 28, 2009 in Mobile, AL. Manuel was a native of Lakeshore, MS. He had been a resident of Vancleave, MS since 2000. He was a member of Community of Christ Church in Vancleave and was a retired commercial fisherman and carpenter. Manuel was preceded in death by his wife, Caroline Windsor Powell. Survivors include his daughters, Virginia E. Powell, Rhonda Gail Powell, Dawn Dunaway, sons, Manuel G. Powell, Jr., Gerald N. Powell, Jerry Lanoue, sisters, Frances Elizabeth Seever, Clara Stringer, Nora Migues, Nancy Powell. Survivors also include 17 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Visitation is Thursday, September 3, 2009 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Service will be Friday, September 4, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. Both will take place at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe.
