Manuel Ripoll

Manuel "Rip" Ripoll, 68, of Long Beach, died Thursday, May 25, 2006 in Long Beach. He was born in New Orleans, LA and had been a resident of the Gulf Coast for 26 years and was a former resident of Vicksburg. Mr. Ripoll was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Long Beach. He previously served in the Army National Guard. He was an avid bowler, dancer, and one of the local Santas every Christmas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Virgilio and Hilda Blazio Rippoll; a son, Manuel Ripoll, Jr.; a grandson, Jonathan Amacker; and a great-granddaughter, Kaitlin Reed. He is survived by his wife, Jeannie Ripoll of Long Beach; five daughters, Lisa Russ of Jackson, Gina Savage of Dallas, TX, Kristi Ripoll of Mandeville, LA, Lisa Ryan of Lacombe, LA, Candi Williams Husley of Saucier; two sons, Mitchell Ripoll of Mandeville, LA and Kenneth Ripoll of Albany, LA; a brother, Anthony Ripoll of Metairie, LA; a loving cousin, James Foster Lafitte of Long Beach; and in-laws, Clifton and Carrie Mae Pigg of Bentonia; 21 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. The funeral service will be Saturday, May 27, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at Christ United Methodist Church in Long Beach where friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until the service. Interment will follow at 4:00 p.m. at Melrose Baptist Church Cemetery in Bentonia, MS. In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials to the Friends of the Long Beach Library, 209 Jeff Davis Avenue, Long Beach, MS 39560 or the Alzheimer's Foundation of South MS Division, 4803 Harrison Circle, Gulfport, MS 39507.
