Margaret Lula Mae “Lou” Carr, age 82, of Long Beach, passed away on Sunday, March 2, 2025 at her home.
Margaret was born on September 20, 1942 in Ville Platte, LA to Cleven and Carrie Manuel. She attended Ville Platte High School and was a gardener for a plant nursery as well as a daycare worker. Margaret’s hobbies included reading, bird watching, sewing/making blankets and quilts, gardening at home, cooking home meals, and watching action and mystery tv shows. Margaret was a devoted Catholic her whole life and always kept her faith.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Vicky Youngblood; brothers, Cleven “CL” Manuel, Dave Manuel, and Ronald Manuel; and sister, Geraldine Lane.
Survivors include her brothers, Darrell Manuel and Ryan Manuel; sister, Sandra Turcios; grandchildren, DJ Medders. Stephanie Medders, and Paul Medders; great-grandchildren, Carmen Rivera, Cruz Rivera, Tila Simard, Dante Medders, Madeline Martin, and Dalton Easterling; and great-great-grandchildren, Cheyanne Esquibel, John Esquibel, Roxanne Esquibel, Kylin Yarborough, and Capo Rivera.
A memorial service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 15, 2025 at Cornerstone Baptist Church, 1410 East 2nd Street, Pass Christian, MS. Friends may visit one-hour prior to service. Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, Gulfport is honored to serve the Carr family.
