Margaret Cecelia Brennan Myrick, 100, of Long Beach died Tuesday, May 24, 2011 in Long Beach. She was born in Blockton, AL 1/1/11, & raised in Birmingham, AL. Graduated Massey Business College in Birmingham. Was employed with Civil Service in Birmingham and Mobile, AL and Gulfport, MS in the following positions: Special Orders Supervisor in Adjutant General’s Office, and Placement officer in Civilian Personnel a Brookley AFB, Mobile, and Employee Relations Officer at NCBC, Gulfport. After a career with the Civil Service she worked together with her husband as a Realtor for 30 years until retirement, after which they spent much time traveling throughout the US and abroad. Mrs. Myrick was a lifetime member and former vice-president of the Long Beach Garden Club. Member and former secretaty-treasurer of the Gulfport Board of Realtors. Member and former president of St. Margaret’s Daughters. Former member and president of Women’s Club of Gulfport. Former member Altrusa Club of Gulfport. Member of St. Thomas Catholic Church of Long Beach. She was preceded in death by her father, Thomas J. Brennan, mother, Mary B. Brennan, sister, Mary Ellen McCrorie, “cousin/sister”, Mary Ellen Sheridan, nephew, James J. McCrorie, and husband, Frank L. Myrick. She is survived by “cousin/niece”, Mary Margaret Sheridan Page (Bruce), “cousin/nephew”, George Sheridan (Gale), cousin, James McCrorie (Cindy), and other cousins, nieces and nephews. The family would like the give special thanks to care-givers Shelia Meadows, Sharon Hopkins, and Rita Hopkins, and Hospice nurses Brenda Dubuisson and Paul Cook for their devotion to Margaret’s well being and longevity. The Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, May 27, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Thomas Catholic Church, Long Beach where friends may visit one hour before the Mass. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Biloxi National Cemetery. Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, 15th Street, Gulfport is in charge of arrangements.
