Margaret Elizabeth Mooney

Mrs. Margaret Elizabeth Mooney, age 82, passed away Sunday, October 15, 2017, in Biloxi. Mrs. Mooney was born in Savannah, TN. She and her late husband, Bill Mooney, traveled extensively while he was in the military and settled on the MS Gulf Coast in 1972. She and her husband were the owners/operators of Mooney’s Lake and Campground, Biloxi Beach Campground and Southern Comfort Campground. Mrs. Mooney has continued to operate Southern Comfort Campground after “Mr. Bill” passed away in 2010. She was a great supporter and encourager during her husband’s 25 years in the military in which he received many awards and accolades. The time spent as a military wife when she traveled abroad with her husband were exciting and enjoyable. She was an extremely loving mother who participated in family activities. We love you Mom with all our hearts and souls and will miss you greatly. Mrs. Mooney was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Bill Mooney; her aunt, Lorene (Arthur) Kinchen. She is survived by her daughter, Tonya E. Mooney; grandson, Tyler Moffett; her dear friend, Diane Kuljis; nieces and nephews; her devoted caretaker, Brenda Cochran; and her beloved teacup poodle, Cassie. Funeral services will be 12:30 p.m., Monday, October 23, 2017, at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, 2511 Pass Road, in Biloxi where friends may visit from 10:30 a.m. until service time. Interment will follow in Biloxi National Cemetery.
