Margaret Olive Slade Glimm, known to all as "Lolli", passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 19, 2008 at the home of her daughter in Clarksville, Tennessee. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 2 p.m. Saturday at Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home in Ocean Springs, Mississippi. The Rev. Mitchell Hedgepeth will officiate. Burial will be at Southern Memorial Cemetery, Biloxi. She was born September 2, 1927, in New Orleans, Louisiana, daughter of the late Seymour Slade and Anna "Big Momma" Booker Slade Williams. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Glimm. Lolli grew up in Vancleave, Mississippi. Her professional life included being a flight attendant for a private charter airline, working at the New York Stock Exchange and working for various public relations firms in New York City. In 1975 returned to the Gulf Coast she loved and retired from Ingalls Shipbuilding in Pascagoula. She lovingly cared for both her husband and mother during their extended illnesses. Her passions were boating, fishing, reading and spending time with her family and friends. She was a member of Ocean Springs Chapter 394 Order of the Eastern Star, Daughters of the Nile Jophia Temple 146, King's Daughters, Ocean Springs Friendship Club and the Red Hat Society. She is survived by one daughter, Laura Stamper and her son-in-law Tom Stamper of Clarksville, Tennessee; two grandsons, Avery and Christopher Stamper, who adored their Grandma, and her faithful dog, Mimi. She is also survived by two cousins, Jean Carriere (Oliver), Covington, Louisiana; Richard "Dick" Howell (Carolyn), Ocean Springs, Mississippi as well as many good and loving friends. Pallbearers will be family and friends. In lieu of other remembrances, in celebration of Lolli's belief in helping others, the family asks that you do something kind for someone less fortunate or make a donation to your favorite charity.
