Margaret Helen Beck White, 91, passed away on Sept 2, 2015 at River Chase Village in Gautier, MS. Margaret was born October 10, 1923 in Louisiana, Pike Co., MO.
Margaret loved to bake. Her pies and rolls were the best. She loved orchids and roses. Margaret raised dogs; Yorkies, Boxers and Dobermans. She also loved to paint, especially tall ships. Margaret settled in Jackson Co., MS in 1970 when her husband Bill went to work at Ingalls Shipbuilding. Before coming here Margaret and her family lived in Missouri, Kansas, Louisiana, Alabama and Florida. Her husband worked for the Boeing Aircraft Company which moved them from place to place. Margaret was of the Christian faith. Margaret was the owner of A-OK Pawn, Gun and Hobby Shop in Gautier, MS for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Henry “Bill” White Sr.; her parents, James Stanley Beck and Katherine Anna “Katie” Smith Beck; five brothers, James Harvey Beck, James Stanley Beck, Jr., Lyndell Hardin Beck, Glen Eugene Beck and Preston David Beck; and two sisters, Laura Beck and Mary France Beck Jones.
She is survived by two brothers, Merrill Kenneth Beck of California and Lenard Gerald “Gerry” Beck of Missouri; one son, William Henry “Bill” White Jr. and daughter-in-law, Lettie Marie Simoneaux White of Ocean Springs, MS; two daughters, Sandra Kay White of Gautier, MS and Beverly Jean White Howe and son-in-law, David Howe of St. Martin; five grandchildren, Michael Eugene (Lana) White, Gerald Anthony (Jackie) White, Barbara Ann White (Karl) Beatty, Georgia Marie White (Richard) Harris and David Anthony “Tony” (Lori) Howe; plus ten great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at 2:30 pm. Friends may visit from 1:30 pm until service time. Interment will follow at Crestlawn Memorial Park.
