Margie Lyons Johnson

Margie Lyons Johnson, 86, of Lafayette, LA, died Monday, August 11, 2014 in Lafayette. She was born in Gulfport and was a resident until moving to Lafayette in 2010. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lyman and was retired from the insurance profession. She is survived by her longtime companion, Oscar “Buck” Buchanan; a son, Randy Johnson (JoAnn) of Lafayette; a sister, Vera Huhgren of Glenview, IL; two half-brothers, Robert Lyons of Diamondhead and Terry Lyons of Jacksonville, NC; three grandchildren, Paul Johnson, Jennifer Adcock, and Casey Dore; and six great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn Johnson, Allie Johnson, Aubrey Johnson, Adam Dore, Emily Dore, and Avery Dore. The funeral service will be Thursday, August 14, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, O’Neal Road, Gulfport where friends may visit beginning at 12:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Finley Cemetery, Gulfport.
