Marguerite Elizabeth Boyd, 73, of Biloxi, Mississippi, passed away on September 5, 2019. Marguerite was a native of Carlsbad, New Mexico and a longtime resident of Chicago, Illinois. She graduated Southwest Missouri State University with a BA degree in English and received a PhD from the University of Missouri - Columbia. Her devotion to education was recognized by numerous awards and honors throughout her years of service. In 2007, following a significant career in education where she was administrator in several Illinois community colleges, Marguerite retired as President of Harry S Truman College in Chicago, Illinois. She was a lover of nature. Marguerite generously nurtured people, animals and plants. In retirement, she was passionate about her hobbies which included gardening, genealogy, photography, traveling, cooking and Sudoku. Marguerite was preceded in death by her parents Bernice Marguerite Fanning Boyd and Hiley Thompson Boyd, Jr. She is survived by her husband of 18 years, Paul Ehmann Brauchle, one son, Brian Allan Croxdale, step-daughters Elizabeth Bella (Mike), Helen McCarthy (Michael), grandchildren Emily Rhodes, Ayla Bella, Ian McCarthy and Ella McCarthy, sisters Beth Ward and Sheila (Ron) Daniels. Marguerite was extremely generous to a large number of charities and people close to her heart.
