Maria Antonia Walker

Our beloved mother, María Antonia Walker, was 72 years old and was a resident of Gulfport, MS. After a long fought battle with an Illness, she left us peacefully on February 18, 2025, in Biloxi, MS.

She was born in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, her parents were Leopoldo Alago and Philomena Gonzalez. She left her home in Puerto Rico shortly after marrying our (late) father, Jerry Walker, Sr. To begin her life as a dedicated military wife, and mother. She was the heart of our family, she devoted her entire life to her children, and grandchildren. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed preparing Spanish meals for her family and friends, ensuring that no one ever left her table hungry. The laughs brought about when she tried to say certain words in English (due to her Spanish accent) would bring such humor and light to her family. Her life as a mother and her love for her entire family was an example of her dedication to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Looking back, her obsession with napkins, whether she was wrapping gifts in them, money, jewelry, or covering cups was almost a symbol of her wrapping her arms around each one of us, shielding us from harm in a sense. 

Her life was a living example of (Bible verse, Ephesians 4:32 ”And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ.”), and as she faced many challenges in her life, despite many years of sickness, moving to different countries while continuing to put her family first, language barriers, and being away from her native homeland and family, she always persevered and put God and her duties as a mother first, instilling dedication and patience into each four of her children.

María will join her previously departed husband (our Father) Jerry Walker, Sr, in heaven. She will also be reunited with her mother and father along with her many siblings whom have gone before her.

María Antonia Walker is survived by her children Jerry, Byron, Totianna and Brian James along with 18 grandchildren and 1 great grandson.
