Marie Alberta Kitson

Mrs. Marie Alberta "Bert" Kitson went home to be with her Savior Friday, July 29, 2005, in Ocean Springs, MS. She was born in Nashua, NH, raised in Portsmouth, NH, and had been a resident of Ocean Springs since May, 1987. Mrs. Kitson was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church. She was a member of the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary, the Red Hatters Club and TOPS. As the proud and loving wife of a military retiree, she fully supported his military duties, thus, she too was a soldier; and, in essence, served her country. During their military years she was head of the household and raised four wonderful and college educated children. "Bert" was a most patient, caring and loving wife, mother, grandmother and a special person to her many and dearest friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She truly adored and idolized her three grandchildren. Mrs. Kitson was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Pierre Lalancette and her brother, William. Survivors include her loving husband, "Kit"; children, Bruce T. Kitson of Witchita Falls, Texas; Robert W. Kitson of Phoenix, Arizona; daughter, Col. Bridget K. Kimura of Honolulu, Hawaii and Patrick J. Kitson of Ocean Ssprings. Also, her sister, Beatrice Gerlack, of Burlington, Vermont and brothers, Leo Lalancette of Essex Junction, Vermont and Roland Lalancette of Portsmouth, New Hampshire. And, most importantly, three most loving grandchildren, Brennan K. and Morgan L. Kimura of Honolulu, Hawaii and Andrea Kitson of Phoenix, Arizona. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, August 1, 2005, at 11 a.m. at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Ocean Springs where friends may visit one hour before service time. In lieu of flowers, please send memorials to your favorite charity in "Bert's" memory. Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home in Ocean Springs is in charge of arrangements.
