Marie Vuyovich Fayard, born May 31, 1929, in Biloxi passed away on May 30, 2011 at her home in D'Iberville, MS. A lifelong resident of the Coast, she was past president of St. Theresa's Mother's Club, a lifelong member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and instrumental in the continued success of "Fayard's pressed and dressed" poboy's. The role she held dearest to her heart was that of being a mother, wife, sister, grandmother and friend to those she loved. Marie shared daily the gifts of faith, love and laughter with everyone she knew and with anyone she met. She is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Elvis L. Fayard; son, Jimmie Fayard, Sr.; grandson, Jimmie Fayard, Jr.; her parents, Otto Mike and Marie N. Acevedo Vuyovich; four brothers, Arthur, Eddie, Harold and Buddy Vuyovich; three sisters, Maybelle Ibele, Gloria Pyron and Dot Balius. She is survived by her loving family, daughter, Dorinda Fayard; sons, Elvis (Barbara) Fayard, Keith (Delores) Fayard; daughter-in-law, Johnnie Fayard; grandchildren, Nicole, Amanda, Chris, Josh, Ricky, Jason, Tiffany, Nick, Ashton and Lauren; nine great-grandchildren; three brothers, Jack (Louise), George (Joan), Franklin (Doris) Vuyovich and two sisters, Shirley Davis and Althea Flynt. In honor of her wishes, a private graveside service will be held for the family. In lieu of flowers the family prefers donations to: St. Vincent de Paul Society, c/o Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, Howard Avenue, Biloxi is in charge of arrangements.
