Marie "Ione" Kelly Trascher

Marie Ione Kelly Trascher, 93 years young, born in Biloxi in 1914 and a life-long resident of Biloxi and New Orleans, passed away peacefully Sunday, December 16, 2007 at 7:24 p.m. in Gulfport, shortly after receiving final blessings from Father Patrick Mockler. At her side were her daughter, Patricia Gloria Trascher, son, John Edward Trascher and family. Ione led an extraordinary life with a tremendously positive impact on the ones she leaves behind especially her 16 grandchildren who she held dearest to her heart. Ione, a successful entrepreneur and accomplished painter, had an eye and way of seeing the beauty in all of God's creations. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henrietta and Herman Peter Kelly, her loving husband, Edward John Trascher and her five siblings, James Carl, Elwood "Kayo", Henrietta, Girdy and George, and a nephew, Steve. Ione is survived by her son, John Edward Trascher, daughter, Patricia Gloria Trascher and grandchildren, Susan and husband Michael, Ted and wife Charlene, Michele and husband Reyn, Bruce and fiancé Jill, Timmy and wife Zola, Eddie and wife Sandra, Elsa and husband Willie, and Andrea and Orrin. Ione is also survived by the great grandchildren, who were so precious to her: Brandon, Chad, Jordan, Kelly, Taylor, Cameron, Madeline, Hannah, Justin, Kayla, Taylor, Zachary, Reese, Peyton, Bruce, Jr. and Skyler Reynee. Ione is also survived by many great nieces and nephews including, Anna, Roseleigh, Caryolyn, Joann, Frankie, Ed, Glenda, and many others too numerous to mention. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 19, 2007 at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church on Pass Road in Biloxi. A Holy Rosary will be prayed at 11 a.m. with visitation at 12 p.m. and a High Mass is at 1 p.m. Following High Mass, burial will be at Southern Memorial Park in Biloxi.
