Marie Louise Powers

Mrs. Marie Louise Powers, age 94, was called home to heaven Saturday, July 11, 2015, in Biloxi. She was born in Sommerville, Massachusetts and had been a resident of Biloxi for the past 20 years. She was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church and volunteer at Our Lady Academy in Bay St. Louis and an associate member of Bethel Lutheran Church Women's Club. Mrs. Powers was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest F. Powers. Survivors are her daughter, Marie (Kerry) Bartels of Biloxi, and her son, Dr. Ernest F. (Barbara) Powers, Jr. of North Reading, MA. She was affectionately known as "Grammy" to her grandchildren; Christopher (Tina-Marie) Bartels, Lauren Bartels (Ltc Edward) Hale, Dr. Ernest Frank Powers, III and Dr. Katie Powers. Her great-grandchildren- Will, Ella and Ethan Hale- will miss their beloved "DeDe". Beach Blvd., Bay St. Louis, MS 39520. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 22, 2015, at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church where friends may visit one hour before service time. Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, 2511 Pass Road, in Biloxi is in charge of arrangements.
