Marjorie Frances Hodges passed away peacefully on February 9, 2015 at the age of 94. She was born on December 13, 1920, the oldest of four children to William G. and Frances Greer Moulton in White Hall, IL. She lost her father to an accident at the age of nine. Her mother became a beautician and worked in her home to raise her four children. Marjorie graduated from White Hall High School where she met her future husband, Royal M. Hodges. After completing her nursing degree at Presbyterian Hospital in Chicago, the young couple moved several times, finally to Biloxi in 1948. Marjorie was employed at Biloxi Hospital as an Obstetrical Nurse on the evening shift. She was an excellent cook, craftsperson who knitted, crocheted, quilted and sewed with skill who made many clothes for herself and her children. She had four children, Diantha Stafford of Clinton, MS, William Hodges (deceased) of Biloxi, MS, Susan Mickelson of Greenville, SC, and Janet Johnson of Atlanta, GA. She leaves behind ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren, one only born two weeks ago. Per Marjorie’s request there will not be any services. She will be interred with her beloved husband, Royal M. Hodges, of 58 years at Biloxi National Cemetery. The Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
