Mr. Mark Joel Wade, 74, of D'Iberville, MS, died Saturday, July 14, 2007, in D'Iberville.
Mr. Wade was a native and lifelong resident of the coast. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church where he served as an Eucharistic Minister and was a member of the Legion of Mary. He retired as chief of police from the Biloxi Veterans Administration.
Mr. Wade was preceded in death by his first wife, Patricia Tootle Wade; his parents, Albert and Hilda Johanson Wade; his daughter, Kathy Lynn Wade Webb, and his brother Anthony Wade.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Fairbanks Wade; three sons, Mark Wade, Jr., of Arlington, TX, Tim Wade of Bedford, TX, and Randy Wade of Vancleave; two sisters, Mava Jean Malone and her husband, Tom, of Diamondhead, and Beverly Starnes and her husband, Frank of Cloudcroft, NM; five step-children, Michael Fairbanks and his wife, Mary, of Ocean Springs, Denise Fairbanks of D'Iberville, Tim Fairbanks of Ocean Springs, Cynthia Wilkie and her husband, Robbie, of Biloxi, and Barbara Wade of D'Iberville; fifteen grandchildren, Susan Webb of Streater, IL, Brandi Wade, Angela, Lee, Joe, Elizabeth, John, Pete, Jake, Ervie, Luke, Charlie, Josh, Eric and Tommy, and great grandchildren, Christopher, Katlyn, Carmen, James, Logan, Landen, Pete, Morgan, Madison, Colby and Kiley.
Visitation was held Tuesday, July 17, 2007, at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Homes in Biloxi from 5 until 8 p.m. Recitation of the Rosary was held at 6:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial is today, Wednesday, at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in D'Iberville where friends may visit one hour before service time. Interment will follow in Biloxi National Cemetery with military honors.
