Mark Louis Sepe

Mark Louis Sepe, age 47, of Ocean Springs, MS, went to be with the Lord on March 25th, surrounded by his wife and family. He was born September 3, 1962, in Cleveland, Ohio and was the son of Luigi (Rick) and Mary Sepe of Ocean Springs. Survivors include his loving and devoted wife of 25 years, Judy Lynn Bass Sepe and two children, Matthew Louis Sepe, age 22, and Kristan Ann Sepe, age 20, both of Ocean Springs, MS., two brothers, John (Christie) Sepe of Ocean Springs, and Robert (Kim) Sepe of Pensacola, FL., additional family members, Alton and Julie Bass of Pascagoula, MS., Mike and April Bass of Hurley, MS., Ernie Hendrix of Loganville, GA., and Kathy Bass Hendrix of Ocean Springs, MS., nephews and nieces, Jeremy Bass, Ashley Bass, Robert Bass, Warren Hendrix, Jonathan Bass, Amanda Bass, Tori Hendrix, Darby Ladnier, Dalton Ladnier, Hannah Sepe, Luke Sepe, A.J. Sepe and Samuel Sepe. Mark graduated in 1981 from Ocean Springs High School and played on the football team. He was a retired veteran of the United States Air Force for 15 years with the rank of Tech Sergeant. He served in various places such as Eilson Air Force Base, Fairbanks, Alaska, Keesler Air Force Base, Biloxi, MS., Osan Air Force Base, Korea and Eglin Air Force Base, Fort Walton Beach, FL. While in the Air Force he earned his Charter Boat Captain's License and captained various charter boats, eventually owning his own charter boat business. In April, 2002, he was medically discharged from the Air Force because he was diagnosed with ALS. He returned back to his hometown of Ocean Springs to be with his family and loved ones while he fought the battle. The expected life span was eighteen months to five years. He stated that at any time after that was a "bonus life." The Lord blessed him to be with us for eight years. Even in passing, Mark saw fit to donate his organs to ALS Research to benefit future ALS patients. Visitation will be on Saturday, April 3, 2010, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m., with an 11 a.m. Memorial Service, all at Belle Fountain Baptist Church in Ocean Springs. In lieu of flowers, Mark and his family are requesting donations be made at either ALS Association, Development Department, 27001 Agoura Road, Suite 250, Calabasas Hills, CA., 91301, 1-888-949-2577, or to Gideon International, P.O. 1, Ocean Springs, MS. 39566. The Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
