Marsha Staehling Blackedge, age 66, passed away Wednesday, November 23, 2016 peacefully at home while closely monitored by her three children.
Marsha was born December 25, 1949 in Biloxi, MS and was a lifelong South Mississippi native. She graduated from Biloxi High School, Class of 1969. She worked at her family's restaurant off and on for 25+ years, and also as a teacher's aide at both Biloxi and Vancleave school systems. She retired as an office manager at an RV park. Marsha enjoyed going out dancing, making new friends, and above all else, spending time with her family.
Marsha is preceded in death by her husband, George Lewis Blackledge, Jr. and her parents, Joseph Noel Staehling and Betty Jane Burdine.
Marsha's survivors include her daughters, Amber Blackledge Watson (Chris) and Sarah Blackledge Odom (David Holder); her son, George Lewis Blackledge, III; her twin brother, David Staehling (Karen); sisters, Brunell Hall and Pamela Kornman (Billy); her brothers, Joseph Staehling and Randy Staehling (Ann); and her grandchildren, Cody, Haley, Holly, Jake, Garrett, and Audrey Watson.
Visitation will be held Monday, November 28, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., with a service at 11:00 a.m., all at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Southern Memorial Park.
