Martha Ford "Sug" Priddy

Martha Ford "Sug" Priddy, 76, of Perry Township, Ohio, died Sunday, April 8, 2007 at her home. She was born September 1, 1930 in Pass Christian to the late Martha and George Dewey Ford. She served as Pass Christian Carnival Ruler in 1953 as Queen Christianias. Her King Christian for that Mardi Gras Reign was Dr. C. D. Taylor, Jr. She was a graduate of Sacred Heart Academy in New Orleans and Maryville University in St. Louis. As a young woman she was active in sports, including sailing, tennis, and golf. She was a sailing member of the Pass Christian Yacht Club and parishioner of St. Paul's Catholic Church both of which were very near her family home in Pass Christian. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack in 2003. She is survived by her son Jeffrey (Marcia) Priddy of Greenwich, OH; a daughter, Kelly Stokoe and Steve McGuire of Canton, OH; three grandsons, and a large number of cousins from the Mississippi Gulf Coast, including, Eaton A. Lang, Jr. and John H. Lang, both from Pass Christian, A. W. "Bubba" Lang, III of Gulfport and Lanier Lang of Long Beach. A Mass of Christian Burial and entombment were held in Canton, OH. A private memorial service will be held at a later date in Pass Christian. The family prefers memorials to Aultman Hospice (in memory of Jack), 2821 Woodlawn Avenue NW, Canton, OH 44708 or to Wishes Can Happen, 1310 N. Main St. N., Canton, OH 44720.
