Mrs. Martha Smith Pinto, 80, was welcomed home to her heavenly Father Friday, September 3, 2010, at home with her loving family in Ocean Springs. Martha was born December 10, 1929 in Biloxi on a day that was said to have had foot long icicles hanging down from the roof. a Biloxi native, she lived on the Point Cadet and had many wonderful memories she shared with all. She was a member of the Fleur de Lis, Golden Age and La Petite Clubs. She loved spending hours "playing" and traveling with her friends; she was the life of the party and loved to have a good time. She also enjoyed arts, crafts and fishing. She was a lifelong member of St. Michaels Parish. She never met a stranger and will be missed by so many. Her love for her family will carry on for many generations to come. Martha was preceded in death by her husband, Louie A. Pinto, Sr.; parents, Laurent and Angeline T. Smith; five brothers, Gerald, Fred, Cary, Clark and Willie; and granddaughter, Stephanie Smith. She is survived by two brothers, Laurent (Judy) Smith of Vero Beach, FL, and Robert (Pam) Smith of Lulling, LA; three sons, Louie A. (Joanna) Pinto, Jr. of Biloxi, Joseph A. (Evelyn Harper) Pinto of Biloxi, David A. (Christine) Pinto of Woolmarket; three daughters, Angela (Donald) Glenn of Morning View, KY, Bertha (Gary) Smith of Biloxi, Diana (David) Kopszywa of Ocean Springs; uncle, Melvin (Freddie) Trosclair of Oklahoma; grandchildren, Megan Pinto (Jonathan) Mitcham of Orangeburg, SC, Louie A. Pinto, III of Biloxi, David A. Pinto, III of Ocean Springs, Jack Wilson and Angel Wilson of Woolmarket, Samantha (Jay Gilliam) Keller of Kansas, Jacqueline (Jay) Strassner of Biloxi, Erin, Erica and Roumania Kopszywa of Ocean Springs; and great grandchildren, Jenae Smith, Jaden Gilliam and Summit Mitcham. In lieu of flowers, Martha wanted donations made in her name to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (http://www.cff.org/Getinvolved/ManyWaysToGive/, or to St. Michaels Catholic building Fund, 177 First St., Biloxi, MS 39530. Funeral services will be Wednesday, September 9, 2010, at 11 a.m. at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, Howard Avenue, in Biloxi where friends may visit one hour before service time. Interment will follow in Biloxi National Cemetery
